I know, I have to get mine too. I'm so excited. Do you go/are you going to the tech fair that weekend? Just curious.

i like the new song they played tonight. not the cover, the other one. i do like their cat stevens cover, but they didn't play that. wish they had a full horn section though. the new album stuff just isn't the same without it.

i think he was talking about the keyboard playing, not the singing.

yeah i guess so, it sounded fine to me though -carla i couldn't really hear it, but they also had like 3 keyboards at one point so its hard to tell. i'm sure it was fine though, musicians always think they sound like shit.

this is bogus, i hate that "this was the best five years of our lives." if that's the truth then why are u going to stop playing? it's not like u gave up on music, you're planning on doing solo stuff from what i've heard. obviously the two of them don't want to play together.

i feel like they just want to do different styles of music and not necessarily they don't want to play together. i feel like it more of they need a change from what they've been doing and if they both have different ideas of the direction to go in its easier to do your own thing. hopefully/eventually a few years down the road they'll do something again together.

that's respectable, i'm not against bands breaking up, you gotta do what's right for you. I just would like some honesty. They're specifically going out of their way to tell you the things that didn't cause the break up: we're still best friends, i loved being in this band best 5 years of my life. if ur gonna go out and make those statements, then just tell us y while ur at it. imagine u broke up with someone and refused to give a reason, that'd be the most fucked up thing.

imagine u broke up with someone and refused to give a reason, that'd be the most fucked up thing. thats happened to me and i think ive done it too anyways, what bothers me about this (and a few bands lately) is that no one just flat out says "hey we are breaking up" they say they are going on a "break," but inevitably once they say that everyone acts like they will never play music again even though the band never TECHNICALLY said they even really broke up. now, in some cases the bands will say something like "an indefinite hiatus" (blink182) and do a good job with holding to that whole not playing music so you can basically assume correctly we broke up. if you are breaking up and dont want to tell us why, fine i can respect that, but at least flat out say that unfortunately you are not a band any longer. i almost see it pointless to even bother with statements like those. so if the format did actually break up, then yes i would agree in saying its a sad day because they make great music, HOWEVER, they didn't says that and so i can see no reason to feel upset over a band that didn't break up and that it will just be awhile for the next new cd. does waiting for good music suck sometimes? yes. is it worth it in the end? in my experiences it has been. -carla

well see my point is not so much that they won't say why, but that they tell u some things and not everything. it's like when someone you know says "oh my god you will not believe what i heard the other day!" then says " but i can't tell you any thing" why do that to begin with? why say you love the band and you love your band mate? basically he doesn't want people to make the wrong assumptions, but he also doesn't want them to make the right assumptions. it's so contradictory.
