First I did not know if I should start a new thread with this or just put it under what's going on with the band, so for now new thread and I'll let the moderators of this board decide where it goes.
There are 3 new myspace blogs on www.myspace.com/straylightrunband
since January 26th and Will's update(that was mentioned in the tours section)
First a band update by John, then a Shaun rambling, and just now I realized John wrote another blog in response to some comments and such.
Anyway here's what is said in the band update and for the rest just go to the myspace and read the blogs, they are always entertaining.
"Long time no blog
Once again, it has been awhile since my last web log. I really do enjoy these but I think I'm just not cut out for constant internet living like some people. I feel it's very difficult to maintain an active internet life and an active actual life as well. It seems sometimes it has to be one or the other and actual life always wins out in the end for me. I have missed blogging and reading all the great responses though and so I've come back for more. I also felt it was time for an update on what the band has been up to recently lest you all begin to think us lazy or dead. We've been spending a lot of time in Will's super studio which is contained inside the coldest and noisiest rehearsal space on Long Island. We've been arranging a bunch of new songs and then immediately getting to work on demoing them. It's been really exciting to hear these new songs coming together and I am growing more and more eager for the time when we will record them for real and release them on an album. I feel like these new songs are in some ways very different than anything we've done but at the same time also sound more like Straylight Run than anything we've done before, if that makes any sense. I think our songs are starting to develop a consistent sound while still maintaining their own unique identity i guess. We're also working on getting our live CD/DVD finished by the end of February. We've decided on releasing it as a live CD of the Patchogue show with a DVD that will have some documentary style footage of us doing various things from the past few years as well as some live concert footage from our last tour. I'm very excited that we've finally figured out what we're going to do and I can't wait to get it done and out there for all to see. The other thing we've been up to is trying to plan out our upcoming tours in march and april. We're going to do some headlining dates before the MTVU tour but we've had a very difficult time getting the supporting bands in place. As soon as that is finalized we will be announcing all of that and hopefully soon after we'll also have an official announcement about where we'll be playing on the MTVU tour. I hope everyone is happy and healthy and generally doing well in life. Talk to you soon!
Love,
John"
so this kinda fits all spectrums which is why i made it a new thread...
I cant wait for the dvd/live cd to come out that's going to be awesome.
