"while dicussing saves the day's upcoming new album Sound the Alarm, frontman Chris Conley mentioned the words 'upbeat' 'aggressive' 'melodic' and 'energetic' more times then there are pages in this issue of AP. okay, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but Conley definitely seems a bit pumped about this, his band's fifth full-length. "it's pretty rockin, with more introspective lyrics," he says "they're less cerebral and more immediate." the band are currently recording Alarm with can't slow down/through being cool producer steve evetts, and plan to wrap up recording by the end of this month, before setting out on a comprehensive north american tour from october to december alongside senses fail, the early november, and say anything. STD are shooting for alarm's release in "january, hopefully" says conley, although the band are "completely unsigned" and "self-funded" the recirdubg if the album, but "have been talking to people" out of the 14 songs tentatively scheduled to make up the disc (one of which is the title track), two, "shattered" and "the end" are quickly becoming conley's favorites: "there's just something [about those] that feel special," he muses. "[our sound has] definetely evolved, but it's still aggressive and energetic." there's those words again, chris: C'mon, tell us something different about what to expect! "[All of fans] should expect to get their faces peeled off!" conley says trumphantly. well, then.

i think this album will be astounding. if it's even half as good as SWYA, it will be great.
personally, if they mized SWYA with some through being cool, i'd be the happiest lad alive.
and the fact that manny is dong the album AND touring with htem? please. that makes std almost gods.

my only beef with std is the ticket prices. as much as i love them, and they are my favourite band, i dno't tihnk they can justify $20+. especially not for this tour.
but then again, that's what guest lists are for.

i dont think $20whatever is bad at all. plus, its a co-headlinning with Senses Fail so... but reguardless i think std could charge $20something for a headlinning tour (by themselves) and i wouldnt question it or think its unfair. but thats how i feel

i dunno. i guess it's part of my personal philosophy: $25 and up shgould only be spent on fests or the cure. or if satan battles jesus himself in a guitar dual.
i think with saves though, i feel they could charge what they want, but not after in reverie. i LOVED in reverie, but most didn't. and it was after tahn that ticket prices shot up. so i find it wierd that they release an album that most hate, and then charge more. whatevs though.
plus, this tour is dissapointing. if it were still saves, say anything, and early novemebr, i'd be thrilled. but now that say anything is off, it loses alot. emanuel and senses fail? c'mon now.

yeah but so what? you dont have to watch them. the early november is still on and i dunno, for me, i dont care who STD plays with, i love them to much to care, as long as i get to see them play i will be more than excited. i still get ten and std out of it so its more than worth it for me. seeing sayanything again would have been awesome, but its not like max getting sick was susposed to happen. as long as saves the day doesnt drop off before i get to see them, i will not be disapointed.
i want to hear their new stuff soooo badly
