so last night i drove down to baltimore with jen to see straylight run play for the first time as a 3 piece
walked in when treaty of paris was playing and they were good, then band marino played and i loved them and bought their cd, they put on a great show, and then jonezetta played and they were okay i guess, they didnt really grab my attention too much
SR played everything kicked up a notch and played songs including (and i think i remembered them all) Mistakes, Sympathy for the Martyr, Wait and Watch, The Perfect Ending, Sunrise Highway, Buttoned Down, Ten Ton Shoes, Sympathy for the Martyr, Soon We'll Be Living in the Future, Drain You (Nirvana cover), Who Will Save Us Now, Try, Existentialism, Big Shot
(i think i almost sorta have the order right, not positive though)
definitely a more rock feel to this show than in the past and with some of the songs clearly being played at a faster pace, it really made the show driving and move along, with then a break for john to play some acoustic songs by himself. when they were playing the nirvana cover i dont think i ever have seen will play the drums so hard before, it was definitely a fun time to be had and a new SR show to enjoy and experience
one of my favorite parts was on Sympathy when towards the end normally Michelle would come in a sing the ba-da-das and the crowd just decided on their own to pick that up on their own and sing it so loudly
