i know, i dont call or even write anymore. but i do think of y'all from time to time.
Got to see John and Camille in st louis, at the firebird, a nice club with a good pa and lights. Brian Bonz and the Hot Dongs then Person L opened. But i also hear Person L has been known to be the headliner at times too.
There was an opening band i forget the name of. The attracted a good crowd and put on a good show. They musta went on at 8pm too, i missed a bunch.
I met brian via some of Kevin Devine's goddamn band incarnations, he convinced me to check out the myspace page of his own band and i have been interested since. Brian is working on this tour with 2 of the dot hongs, AJ and jinda and it sounds good.

Person L was next. A good set, very energetic thick sound. Strong crowd interest and participation.
Then John and Camille came out. I liked it a lot. The crowd was never huge, but it had thinned out on the floor some. Part of it was because people were sitting at the booths and benches. It was a very powerful set, starting with Camille, then some solo, bringing back Camille and then having the dot hongs join him. He works well with the audience, while its hard to compete with brian and his almost stand up comedy, John connected in a more mellow fashon. I particularly enjoyed a break from the prepared setlist because of a request. Even tho the Straylight shows i saw may have been on the mellow side they were EVENTS, there was even switching of instruments in st lou but this was more of an intamate evening with the couple. People were respectful and attentive and we listened to some fine music.
well you can hear for yourself:
