Yes I am new, I bet i am going to be real quiet too. I hope i put this in the right place. I had a great time at the show, all the bands were super. I was able to shoot some video www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXlUnsNCNGs Hands in the Sky(Big Shot) . I also uploaded a little from Lawrence KS back in November, its not very good, this is OK. I learned more about the band here in half an hour than i had learned since Lawrence. Thanks. Just wish i knew it last nite.

jesus christ they DID play in lawrence in november i wish i got to see them more often I had a blast both times, impressive.... and you have to be at least 90 min closer than i was. i loved the Atlanta trip pictures, and thought id share my trip to see Kevin Devine yesterday. yea i know this is a straylight forum, but i went to Lawrence in the first place to see Kevin, oh and Kevin was maybe 6 whole blocks SW and just two days later too ;D Same ride. Some interesting exposed rock along the way And water features are not uncommon, mostly constructed. No state welcome signs, I'm from mid'misery, er Missouri, but i got the KC sign Passed a big stadium, they must have some team that plays there The routing had me getting off in what seemed the middle of nowhere, Took me thru a not rich, but nice neighborhood and in no time i was a main st When you find the bus you know you have arrived Interesting little venue In a historic district Since pablo is their opening act at the moment, and i think they are going to let me post video of their whole set in KC, if there is interest I can post those links as well when resolved. I have some Hush Sound video also associated with my youtube account, and hope to have Spittelfield up soon. And oh yea, i know those truck ramps, nobody backs out of one, and it takes more than one tow truck. They are mostly designed to dissipate energy by displacing TONS of little rocks. I once saw a semi buried to its axle, and another time ruts deeper than my waist from them taking one out. Kevin was fun to see again too, had some supporting band called "Brand New" or something, but he was on second anyway. (at least i knew better than to pull that line with pablo and straylight ... in here ) I hope you enjoyed this as well. Thanks again.

hahahaha. did people give you shit for (basically) saying brand new should've opened for KD?
i live an hour away from lawrence. about 20-30 minutes away from westport/midtown (where all the good kc venues are). i forgot they came here in nov.

hahahaha. did people give you shit for (basically) saying brand new should've opened for KD? Well nobody hit me, got a few strange looks from cute young things that my niece could have baby sat for, but mostly chuckles. And fresh news from pablo is that they have "signed up" for two more dates this tour, march 26/27.

aww... i loved it. thanks for posting that and welcome! -carla Why thank you, and thank you. While not to any of you i may have been somewhat misleading when i said but i went to Lawrence in the first place to see Kevin for actually, while i did see kevin first being the opening band [and queen was the first band to play broadway, not mott the hoople] , but in the first place i went to in Lawrence(liberty hall) to see KT, it was "in the second place" (bottleneck) where i went to Lawrence and saw kevin with straylight. It may be due to mike, but kevin seems associated with so many great acts. the third place in Lawrence was the jackpot w/pablo/jennifer oconnor/koufax/kevin. just FYI of course, so not to "misspeak" grand emporium was the first place in kc tho .... hmm, might now need a venue where i can go see straylight "in the first place"... cant be st.lou(KT) The pablo set is now a work in progress at Grand Emporium. I got to meet them first(lets say the third place and keep toads&lupos, where they were the GDBv2 out of this) ... with kevin ... they have gotten good reviews on their myspace page and the other bands on tour seem to respect them. (and ive got to pay more attention to who im getting introduced to, thanks will) and i should have mentioned .. of course i wore my new straylight.run.pwns tshirt to see kevin et-al. 1:19 of "Mohawk-kevin"- Holland, 1945 (Neutral Milk Hotel Cover) (from the corner by the monitor mixer, interesting view, poor sound) tho i still cant quite figure out who is supporting who on that tour.... Hope i didn't stray to far from the forums topic, it is all sorta kinda related too tho... Edit:oh and i forgot the best part, see its will you cant realy see on drums in the set with pablo, by the time i realized i needed to shoot deeper into the "hole", i didnt have much room to move.
