anybody have some hi hat cymbal reccomendations? cause the ones i have are some ancient zildjians that only say it on the inside of the cymbals. Im looking for more of a 'chick' sound as opposed to the 'tick' they give me now. thanks

you've probably got a pair of hihats i would recommend. so i'll have to think a little more.
first off, hang on to the hats you have now... in a few years they may be just what you're looking for.
a lot of times, switching one of the hihats will give you a very very different sound. so experiment if you can, borrow someone's hihats and switch out the bottom hat, and check it. then swap the tops and see what that does.
if you want a little more volume, high end and clarity i'd recomend checking out an A Custom pair of hats, very loud chick, very modern sounding.
i used an A custom top with a very old New Beat Bottom and it was cool, but now i like a much warmer sound, probably close to what you are using now.
