i typically like larger cymbals than 16". but i'll give any cymbal a chance. i used a manhatten jazz ride once in the sirius satellite radio studios...it was pretty dry and dark... i didn't love it, but with a smaller thinner crash it might work... and last but not least, if the price is right i'll buy anything.
so, price and condition?

it's practically new. i bought it sometime last spring. i've never gigged with it or anything, it's just been used for practices at home... i paid somewhere around $200 for it, so something close to that would be swell, i'm not too worried about it though. i forgot to point out that there are no cracks or any sort of damage, it's just kinda dirty

crappy as in sound bad, or crappy as in "they were cheap, so they must be awful."?

I thought some no-brand cymbals that came with my first set where really bad. I have found though that really even if you dont like the sound at the moment, later on they might serve you well.
Hold on to them, youll probobly find some use for them sometime down the road.

Well Will I have a 1966 Slingerland in excellent condition. I play it occasionaly but I'm getting a new set and need to make room. It's pretty snazzy looking so next time your in Orlando contact me and we can work something out, I really don't need money so I'm sure we can come to terms easily. By the way where do you get your Black Cat Drums?
