hey whats up will. Just joined the board... been listening to you guys for a few months now. I was just wondering if you any excercises or tips on how to build up your skill on the snare with ghost notes. Within the last couple weeks i have realized that it is very important to have these suttle hits in there every now and again. Listening to your record, i could hear that you are very good at handling the snare . So any tips on how to work the snare drum better would be greatly appriciated. thanks!

i think the dexterity that goes into most ghost strokes on the snare can be worked on pretty simply by practicing double strokes on a drum pad. a simple LLRRLLRR pattern rudiment is something that i overlooked for a long time, but recently i've found that practicing something like that for even 10 minutes or so can really help build some of the co-ordination and stike control that you really need to make best use of those dynamic passages. i'm certainly no expert but i think that's what's helped best in that specific situation. paradiddles and double paradiddles will certainly help too.
