Hey,
I had the opporunity to see Straylight Run not to long ago in Chico, California. I actually briefly said hello to Will. If he is reading this, you may remember me as the kid who was going to buy the white rabbit T-Shirt, but upon closer inspection, decided to go for the black crossword. Later I came up to you and commented upon you having "good feel".
Anyhow, with regards to that, I'd like to just say that alot of bands now today have pretty standardized players behind the trapkit. That is not to say that all players are hitting the 2 and 4 and not adding their own feel, but lately, not many players have really grabbed out at me. Will has honestly grabbed out at me. He adds a certain sense of groove and feel to what he plays that I appreciate greatly. I also appreciate the licks and tricks he adds whilst playing live. Quarter note triplet fills! Excellent-don't hear them much any more! lol-I wish you well, and complement you on your playing what is needed. I know that you aren't a Beatles fan, but you are in a way kind of like Ringo: What you play fits...and fits well...
So anyhow, kudos to Will, and I hope you guys come back here eventually. I know the frat guys can be real dickweeds at times, but for those of us that have your CD and have listened to it, we were VERY excited to have you here.
By the way, when you switched for Extantialism, we were cheering because we knew what you were going to play-lol. Incidently, does anybody know the keyboard fingering for that? Is the A meant to be hit with the left hand or the right hand? I've been hitting it with the right...
