were you using someone else's kit maybe, or have you just switched loyalties?

C&C?

good question.
we'll you mustve seen some pictures from the radio show we did for the buzz out in kansas city. a few months ago i began a search for a new company to work with and had met bill cardwell from C&C about 2 years ago so when i told him i was going to be in town for 1 show, he said he'd set me up with a kit, instead of me renting a random one. he's a great guy and builds great drums.
and yes, i suppose i'm now officially a C&C endorsee. i've been talking to bill for the past month or so about an amazing kit that he'll be putting together for me to use on the upcoming headlining tour and mtvU tour. its going to be outrageous.
we're using keller's new maple/poplar/maple shells that mimic the early 70s ludwig/slingerland shells. we're going to stick with the vintage vibe and keep the bearing edges nice and round just like those old 70s drums. we'll be fitting it with the old slingerland beavertail lugs...and we'll have a single ply snare to match the kit. and i'm going to have to wait to tell you about the details on the finish...but i'll just say for now that its going to be a new take on a very old and under-rated finish called "full dress". i think its a beautiful and majestic finish.
i'm so stoked on it. its going to be unreal.
