will, i was wondering how you tend to do your fills live...
in my old band, i would kind-of improv everytime. i'd keep in my head how many counts and how fast each fill would be, but i would usually change how long i stayed on the snare before moving to the toms... stuff like that.
so i guess me question is; are you like me at all or do you do them all the same way everytime?

i try to play as i'm feeling. typically i play similar fills because that is what felt right before, and that's what still feels right. but sometimes i need to hear/feel something else. anything goes in the live show i say. that's why its live. if you want to hear the record, listen to the record.

right on brother... someone was telling me the other day that they really liked how some band (i forget who) sounded exactly like they did on their album. so we got in an arguement about how if i wanted to hear the cd i'd listen to it, and she said that it shows consistency and skill... and i told her she's dumb.
that's my story, i hope you liked it.
