will, do you have any pointers or techniques to increase foot speed?
also, do you know very much about electric drums? i just moved into an apartment in which i can't have my drums. so in order to play i have to drive 6 hours up to my mom's house.... i was thinking it might be worth getting an electric kit so that i will still be able to play and it will be silent.

foot speed.
hmm well they say stretching is important for speed. but i dont know if that theory translates over to kick work.
i would practice your double strokes. there are a few different techniques that people use. some people use a toe/heel thing. where they will tap their toe for the first hit, and as the pedal is bouncing back, basically in the same movement, they drop their heel (with the weight of their leg) to pick up the second note.
i think my technique is more directional. for double strokes, i use mostly the ball of my foot, and the first hit is executed by pushing down on the pedal, then basically with the same motion (perhaps by changing the direction of the force) i push forward to acheive the second hit.
its way too hard to explain through message board posts i guess.
anwyays, for electronic kits. i have very little experience. i hate the feel, but hey if you are in an apt. i'd DEFINITELY look into it. and get a practice pad for sitting infront of the TV.
let us know what you find on the electronic kit front.
