I've just began playing drums again after a year long break. I'm a little rusty, but i'm getting back into it. I was wondering if you guys could help me pick out a double bass drum pedal. I currently own an old single strap driven Tama imperialstar, and was hoping to upgrade. I'm looking for a sturdy, and smooth flowing pedal. Any suggestions?

i actually had a tama flexi-flyer as my first decent kick pedal. it was a strap drive pedal and i loved it. i've been using tama iron cobra pedals for a while because i never got used to the DW pedals that most people seem to use. i actually am using the iron cobra strap drive pedal now, but i think the chain drive is just as smooth and far more durable (i've had to replace the strap once so far... not bad, but it sucks to pay 30 bucks for a tiny little strap).
check out the iron cobras or DW 5000 series. they are the two most common kick pedals in my opinion.

It depends on what you are going for and what you prefer. I use DW 7000 because I couldn't afford the 5000 or 9000 and they are both really nice and worth the money. If you want to try Axis, go for longboards, but they're a pretty different feel and a lot more expensive. I used to use Pearl Eliminators, but they started to fall apart on me. . .
