I guess this is personal life. Well, sort of.
I read that Shaun was lactose intolerant somewhere, and that he sometimes eats vegan food because of it. I am lactose intolerant as well, and was just wondering if this was true and if it is, what kind of vegan food you think is good? I may want to look into it.
And for anyone else who happens to be lactose intolerant (I'm finding a LOT of people are, or say they are) do you guys eat vegan food? Or do you just pump up the lactaid pills and lactose-free special products?
This is pretty pointless, I know.

for like, two months, the ONLY food i ate was tofu ice cream. it tasted fantastic.
i want to go to a vegan restaurant, i know theres a vegan 'fast food joint' in brooklyn, i think it is. but if i was going to eat more vegan-esque food, i'd try it from somewhere. i wouldnt dare make it because it would taste horrible and i would be scarred for life.
lactosefree products are really expensive. and the lactaid milk is absolutely horrible. you can't drink a cup of it, like you would regular milk. if i have cereal with it, i have to like..squeeze my cereal into the side of the bowl to drain the milk out.
for some reason, my friend thinks that if i eat dairy products im going to die. its rather amusing.

LOL you like convulse and foam at the mouth.... lie on the floor jumping like a fish out of water. that would be comical. i wouldn't know whether to laugh at you or get you some help. one of our classes here has to warm up to public speaking and being before an audience... sothey had to do a lip sinc [sp?] show. one girl did josie and the pussycats and played guitar... and she like.. was squatting on the stage... and she looked all stiff like she was imploding... and she was jerking her hand against the guitar. i was like. "OMG SOMEBODY SAVE THAT GIRL. SHE IS HAVING A SEIZURE I THINK. OH MY GOD. SAVE HER." maybe you had to be there.

Hey what's up!
Yes I certainly am VERY lactose intolerant. There are tons of different vegan foods that I eat on occasion and it really makes me happy because I never have to worry about getting sick. When I eat vegan it's usually at Kate's Joint on Ave. B in Manhattan. They have some great stuff. All sorts of sandwiches, pizza, mashed potatoes etc. Another great place is Red Bamboo on west 4th also in the city. They have a great un-chicken parm hero. Truly delicious.
I love tofutti ice cream, and they also make something called sour dream (fake sour cream) which I like a lot. Oh I also live off of Amy's Soy Cheeze Pizza's. They are not vegan because they contain caseinate—a milk derived protein, but has no lactose.
Hope this helps a little.
peace, Shaun

It's horrible always worrying about if you're going to get sick. Or whether or not you're going to be able to eat something if you go somewhere. Thanks for all the input Shaun.

Weird topic...yes. Lactose Intolerant I am. However, cheese=my favorite food. And I'm not willing to give that up to some lactose free crapola. Lactaid is the way to go.

I'm lactose intolerant too..wow, there are more of us than I thought. I have lactaid or soy milk..and I think soy milk's better than the regular stuff after.
Sometimes I have ice cream anyways..and then I feel like crap afterwards. So I try not to.

Haha, when I read this topic I thought it said "Lacoste Intolerant' and i thought there was some epidemic where people with Lacoste shirts were getting beat up at shows or something. And yes I came up with that entire idea from the moment I clicked on the link until the page popped up. And I'm on a cable modem.
