So, what is it? WCW? WWF? WWE? ECW?
Something else?

Hello PEOPLE!!
I still watch Raw and Smackdown as much as I can. In fact it's the only real "TV" I watch plus Nick @ Nite. All those reality show's bug me out, and Friend's really breaks my heart too much. Hehe I wish I was kidding. That Ross and Rachel thing has been on my mind all day! I hope you can forgive me!
I wish I stayed asleep today! Oh my sweet Cure...
Back to wrestling:
ECW was/is the best thing to ever happen to professional wrestling period.
Paul Heyman is absolute genius without a doubt.
I started off as a WWF fan because I didn't get cable, just channel 5 here on LI, NY @ 12:00pm and the occasional Saturday Night's Main event. I'd watch whatever I could on other people's TV's like AWA and WCW, but they usually didn't take the same interest in wrestling as I did.
Then the Monday Night War's came and they were extraordinary.... plus I had cable by then. I'd tape or watch Raw and watch the replay of Nitro on TNT w/ my friends. That was an awesome time for any wrestling fan.
I saw a few ECW shows live on LI, the first of which I got kicked out of. Long story short, I was a stupid kid and a dick and almost got myself and my friend arrested. Sooooo not F'N cool. My best friend Neal saved me from what would have been a massive ass whoopin by security! THANKS NAIL! ;D
When I first saw ECW late night on MSG it was around late '98 I guess; it really blew me the "F" away. So many great straight up wrestling matches, along with brutal f'n blood fests. I ate it up. That to me, was how wrestling IS supposed to be. Now that only WWE is left, that is all I have. I always go back to my dvds now, especially the Ric Flair 3 DVD set, and all the ECW dvd's especially the best of Cactus Jack ETC.
Oh yeah wasting $10 on NWA/TNA is exactly that... a WASTE! Although there are some amazingly great workers on that show, the booking stinks like SH*T!!!! Way to go Vinny Ru!
Well that is some of the 'rasslin stuff I like and hate. Thank you for asking. I'll gladly talk about this stuff forever, as well as bass talk, and anything else your crazy little minds can come up with.
I want to thank the VAST majority of you for coming up with great questions/subjects to talk about. You're truly awesome. I'd love to discuss any of these great subjects with you in person.
When Straylight hits the road, feel free to hit me up, I'm easy to reach. I'm sure we'll have some great conversations on bass talk, pro-wrestling, politics (uh-oh) or even my/Will's hair, or whateva!
SOOO much love, Shaun

Haha whenever I think of wrestling, I always remember the hours I spent with about 10 friends playing Smackdown on PlayStation... those were the days! Everyone loved playing against me because I was so bad, they won all the time

Shaun, When you start making a ton of money you should buy the rights to ECW and start it up again. You know Vince would never be smart enough to do it.

So what does everyone think of Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrerro being the world champions right now? I'm pretty damn psyched....but maybe I'm just getting TOO nerdy for my own good.

man i wish ecw was still around. rvd tore that mcshizzle up. super crazy however was the best.
shaun what do you think of the pro-japan wrestling (i think that's the name of it)? where they have the barbed wire rope, scorpian.pirranha pit marches and other crazy s like that.
on a wrestling note i met the ultimate warrior last thursday at school, who knew he was a political/motivational speaker now a days. so since he came my roommates have watched the following wwf ppvs: wrestlemania 4, wrestlemania 10, king of the ring 94, summer slam 93, in your house, and another i can't think of.

Lately, I've been watching NWA:TNA. They just got a TV deal with Fox SportsNet. I don't know about that, they have some great talent though. AJ Styles, Low Ki, Christopher Daniels....Well they are with Ring of Honor too....

Wow so glad to see there are so many people as into wrestling as I am! hehe who'd a thunk it!
Eddy Guerrerro and Chris Benoit are definitely 2 of the best in the business right now. They've worked so hard to get where they are and more than deserve to be champs. I'm very happy for them.
I've seen many crazy matches in my day. A lot of that stuff took place in a now defunct promotion called FMW that was run by Atsushi Onita. He was the main dude that came up with all those crazy gimmick matches. For the most part, in my opinion the matches never really live up to the hype. There was one barbed wire match with 2 live cobras in the ring that was just terrible. It also depends on the workers in the match. You can make up the most insane gimmicks in the world, but if you put 2 untalented wrestlers in the match it will still suck. peace, Shaun

did anyone happen to see those FMW tapes that were sold in video stores a few years back? they had these ridiculous american commentators dubbing over the original japanese, and they made up the most horrendous storylines to go along with the matches. i actually bought them at the time they were out because i was too young to get into the whole "tape trading" thing, but i wanted to hear what this Hayabusa guy was all about. Imagine my disappointment when all I got was a bunch of Horace Hogan vs. Super Leather matches....

Hayabusa was amazing until he got paralyzed. Last I heard, he's regaining some ability to walk.
What happened to Mike Awesome? He was... awesome... in FMW
Some of those matches in FMW were insane. Who was that dude who used a sickle on people? He was sick.

Didn't Our Lady Peace write Chris Benoit's music he uses when he comes down to the ring? I remember being at one of their shows and they said that they are very good friends with him. That was a great show too got to see Jimmy Eat World for the first time there!!
